My Top 5 Favorite Recipes Found on Pinterest

Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE Pinterest. Like love, love!  In fact my husband oh-so affectionately refers to it as my "Pornterest".  Yeah, he's kind of funny like that.

Any whoooo, today I thought I would share with you my top 5 favorite recipe related pins.  Since my daughter has Celiac's Disease and I suffer from several food allergies , finding yummy foods the whole family can enjoy can sometimes be a downer.  So when Pinterest came around it made looking for delicious GF and DF recipes so much easier!

Of course some of these recipes we have to alter (ex: using vegan butter instead of regular cow's butter) but they are definitely keepers in this house.  And with that, here are my top 5 recipe pins (which also happen to be gluten free):

Microwave Potato Chips
From Food Gal
Yes, these are potato chips you make the microwave! These are not only super easy to make but they are addicting! They usually don't last more than 2 minutes...seriously, they are that good!

Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Chile
I've been making this for a few years now.  It's a favorite among my entire family. Even my 12 year old son loves it, and he's the picky eater of the family.

Old Fashioned Pink Popcorn
Since this recipe calls for 2/3 cup half and half (which my daughter can't have) I had to google a half and half alternative.  I believe I ended up using a vegan butter/soymilk type of mixture.  Sure enough, it turned out great! Now I'm obsessed with pink popcorn.

DIY Taco Seasoning
I think I may have jumped for joy when I found this pin-LITERALLY! Every premade taco seasoning pack/kit I've come across the 2nd ingredient is usually maltodextrin or wheat gluten.  Big time bummer.  So when I found this pin I was overjoyed.  We've used this simple mix dozens of times and it's delicious!

Wicked Easy Salsa
Best salsa recipe EVER! Super easy, super yummy, it's amazing.

Have you spotted these recipes on Pinterest? Did you try them? If so what did you think of them?  I'd love to know!

Love Blossoms

Lately I've been working like a mad woman, creating all sorts of little lovelies for my shop.  My latest creations are what I like to call "love blossoms".

I think these are the prettiest little ruffle flower bobby pins I've created yet.

I decided  on the name "love blossoms" for this series because of the happy floral print that pop up in these flowers.  Fitting, don't you think?

To get a better sense of what they look like size wise, I had my adorable little daughter model for me.  She's the bestest.

As of right now these little lovelies come in 3 different colors: lime green and white floral print, white and navy floral print, and lightest blue with blue floral print, and they are available here

These were so much fun to make and I'm already looking forward to my next project! But for now I just have to say thank you for letting me share my newest creations with you! Can't wait to see what you all think.

Simple Silver Tip Nails

Last week I had a guest post over at Kadydid Designs! Yep, my first once since starting the new blog.  I was so excited and very honored to be asked by Alyssa to put a post together. Especially since she told me I could choose any subject I'd like! Since I've currently obsessed with painting my nails I decided to put together a super easy tutorial on how to create Simple Silver Tip Nails. In case you missed the original post you can find it here. But I've also included it below. Enjoy!

Today I thought I would share a super simple tutorial and when I say simple I mean uber simple! Now if you are anything like me you have probably seen a hundred of those pretty manicured nail pins on Pinterest. I can't get enough of them, but come on! Most of us gals don't have that much free time to attempt some of those looks ourselves. That's where this tutorial comes in! Let me introduce you to the Simple Silver Tip Manicure.

These are the polishes I used. Yep, there's only 2! Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro and Sonia Kashuk nail color in Smoke and Mirrors.

Here's how to get the look:

1. Start with clean, dry, and filed nails.
2. Take the silver polish and run the brush against the inside of the bottle so that there isn't a ton of polish on the brush. Hold the brush perpendicular to your nails and swipe just along the tip of your finger nails. (Now here's the optional part, if you'd like you can apply a basecoat prior to applying the silver polish but I didn't since it saved me some drying time and it was one less step. Yay!)
3. Repeat this step for each nail. You will most likely get some polish on the tips of your fingers, this is totally normal. Just dip a q-tip into some fingernail polish remover and wipe away any residual polish.
4. Let the polish dry completely.
5. Finally, apply 1 coat of the Lasting Finish Pro (or any topcoat of your liking).

And there you have it! A simple but still adorable manicure in just 5 easy steps. I'd love to hear if any of you have tried this type of mani before. If so, what did you think?

The Studio Tour

Today I'll be giving you a glimpse into one of  my favorite rooms in our house.  Believe it or not my favorite room use to be the kitchen (even though I don't actually do a whole lot of cooking) but now it's probably this's our multi-purpose room, or what I like to call my studio.

Ready for a shocker? This room sat empty for almost 2 years! Ah, I know I can't believe it either.  It's what my husband dubbed "the room we never needed" but now it's refered to as our guest bedroom/craft room/studio/exercise gear holding/closet full of boardgames room. See, I told you it was multi-functional.

But honestly it's the room where I feel my most creative.  Where I can blast my Pandora playlist, pin pretty things to my inspiration board, and chat with my husband who is usually playing video games right outside the door in the rec room.  Simply put, it's my happy place.

This is the studio side of the room:

This is the closet that holds our blankets, exercise equipment, and board games.  It desperately needs to be organized.

This is my shipping and materials central stand.  It's little but it does the job.

This is the guest bedroom side:

I hope you enjoyed this visit as much as I did! Thank you so much for stopping by my studio.

Hello everyone!  Today I'll be participating in my 1st link up party since starting the new blog.  Can I get a What-What?! Sorry, Cougar Town reference there, couldn't help myself. Still, I am super duper excited to be linking up to just blog's Mani-Mondays! So, today I thought I'd show you my latest color obsession.

Coral and turquoise!

Seriously, I can't get enough of this gorgeous color combo. Several of my favorite shoes, handbags, shirts, and jewelry feature these colors so I couldn't leave my nails out now could I?

This photo is actually day 2 1/2 of my mani...and that included some yard work, laundry, and jewelry making.  Not a chip in sight! Gotta love it!

Here is what I used:

2 coats of Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Sunset Orange (purchased at Wal-mart with a $1.00 off coupon, making this super cheap)

2 coats of Color Club in Age of Aquarius (from a past Birchbox)

and 1 coat of NYC In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry (used as a top coat, also purchased from Wal-mart using a coupon).

This was my 1st time ever using Rimmel nail polish and I have to say it's fantastic! Especially for the price.  Same thing with the NYC top coat.  I usually don't use top coats because for whatever reason they actually make my nail color chip faster but this stuff is superb!

And there you have it, my latest color love! Thank you so much for letting me share my latest nail obsession.  I'd love to know what color combos you have been digging on lately!

And of course a BIG thanks to Heather for letting me link up to her Mani-Monday party! Can't wait to check out everyone else's latest nail obsessions...
