DIY All Natural Face Moisturizer

You may remember this post I shared from a while back about all the amazing uses for Coconut Oil.  Well my absolute favorite way to use Coconut Oil is by adding it to my facial care routine.  It's super simple and only requires 2 ingredients.

All Natural Homemade Moisturizer Recipe
*Coconut Oil
*Vitamin E (softgels or oil)

First grab a re-sealable and microwave safe container.  Fill it about 1/2 way with coconut oil and warm in the microwave for about 15 seconds (or until coconut oil is completely melted).  Next add several drops of Vitamin E oil.  This can be done by either puncturing at least 2 Vitamin E softgels with a safety pin/needle or by using Vitamin E oil (which can be found in most health food and supplement stores).

Once the Vitamin E has been added (as little or as much as you'd like) give it a good stir and pop it in the fridge for about 10 minutes (or however long it needs to turn to a solid again).  After that you are all set to go! It's that simple.

I like to keep my container in my bathroom medicine cabinet.  I use it every morning before applying makeup as well as every night after washing my face.  As someone who has struggled with adult acne this all natural moisturizer has made all the difference!

Actually my whole family is obsessed with this moisturizer.  My husband finds it gives him a closer and cleaner shave whenever he applies it the night before and even my kids ask if they can use it when they feel their skin is starting to get a bit dry. So in my book it's some pretty awesome stuff!

Have you tried any creative uses for Coconut Oil? If so feel free to share below, I'm always on the lookout for new ways to use that amazing stuff.

  1. I love using coconut oil. I haven't tried it as as face moisturizer yet, but I think I will now! I've used it in my hair before - leaves it so soft! Found you through the Blissful and Domestic Blog Hop - I'm your newest follower :)

  2. I am going to try this tonight. I find that most moisturizers are horrible for my oily skin. Yet I need something because despite the oiliness I also get tightness.
I hope this one fits the bill. Thank you for sharing!

  3. Try whipping with a hand mixer, adding essential oils (I use lime) and putting in a sealable squatty mason jar. Use every night and morning as moisturizer for arms, hands, legs and especially feet. LOVE!
